Starting from Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park, head northwest on Highway 21. Continue for about 6 miles until you reach the junction with Highway 34. Turn left onto Highway 34 East. After approximately 8 miles, take a right onto MO-72 West. Follow MO-72 for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection with I-44. Merge onto I-44 North and continue for about 30 miles. Take exit 186 for US-63 North toward Rolla. Follow US-63 North for about 20 miles, then take exit 186A to merge onto MO-72 East toward Rolla. Continue on MO-72, and after about 5 miles, turn right onto Fairgrounds Road. Mark Twain National Forest will be located on your left at 401 Fairgrounds Rd, Rolla, MO 65401.
