He fought against the Romanian occupation of Bessarabia and advocated for the creation of the Moldavian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.The monument, erected in 1961 with funds from the city's Komsomol members, originally stood in front of the railway station before being moved to its current location near the House of Culture in 1972. The statue is made of red marble. Today, the statue serves as a reminder of the region's complex history and the individuals who shaped its political landscape.
