Walking

From the center of Tiraspol, such as the post office on 25th October Street, walk north along the street. The Suvorov Monument will be visible on your left in Suvorov Square, approximately a 5-10 minute walk.

Public Transport

From the Tiraspol central bus station, take bus number 6 or 7 towards the city center. Get off at the '25th October Street' stop. Walk straight down 25th October Street for about 200 meters; the Suvorov Monument will be on your left. A single trolleybus or marshrutka (minivan) ride costs approximately 3.95 Transnistrian rubles.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available in Tiraspol. A short taxi ride from the Tiraspol train station to the Suvorov Monument will cost approximately 15-20 Transnistrian rubles. Ensure the driver uses the meter or negotiate the fare beforehand.

The Suvorov Monument stands as a proud symbol of Tiraspol, the capital of Transnistria. This impressive equestrian statue pays tribute to Alexander Suvorov, a revered Russian general and the founder of Tiraspol in 1792. The monument is located on Suvorov Square, the city's main square, surrounded by significant buildings like the Memorial of Glory and the Supreme Council of Transnistria.The monument was erected in 1979 and created by sculptors Vladimir and Valentin Artamonov, with architects Y. Druzhinin and Y. Chistyakov. It is considered one of the best artistic monuments to Suvorov in the former USSR. The monument has been awarded the Yevgeny Vuchetich Gold Medal.Alexander Suvorov was a prominent military leader who never lost a battle and is often compared to Alexander the Great. He founded Tiraspol to establish a fortress as part of the Dniester defense line. The monument is a key symbol of Tiraspol and Transnistria, appearing on banknotes and postage stamps.
