    Walking

    From Ștefan cel Mare Central Park, exit the main gate onto Ștefan cel Mare Blvd. Walk south until you reach the intersection with 31 August 1989 Street. Turn left onto 31 August 1989 Street and continue walking for about 15 minutes. The Capitoline Wolf will be located at number 121 A on your right, in front of the National History Museum.

    Public Transport

    From the city center, head to the bus station at the intersection of Ștefan cel Mare Blvd and Ismail Street. Take bus number 33 or 39. Stay on the bus until you reach the 'Gara de Sud' stop. From there, walk along 31 August 1989 Street heading east. The Capitoline Wolf will be at number 121 A on your left, a short walk away. A single ticket on the bus costs 6 MDL.

    The Capitoline Wolf monument in Chișinău is a replica of the famous Roman sculpture depicting a she-wolf nursing Romulus and Remus, the mythical founders of Rome. The statue symbolizes the Latin origins shared by Italians and Romanians, a connection that extends to Moldova through its history.The original statue was donated by the municipality of Rome in 1921, shortly after Bessarabia (present-day Moldova) united with Romania. It was initially placed in front of the Sfatul Țării Palace. However, in 1940, during the Soviet occupation, the statue was destroyed.A new copy, donated by Romania, was unveiled on December 1, 1990, and placed in front of the National History Museum of Moldova, where it stands today. The monument serves as a reminder of Moldova's cultural heritage and its ties to Roman history. The statue has undergone restoration work, including a period from 2005 to 2009 when it was removed for repairs. The surrounding area offers a chance to relax and experience local hospitality.
