The Chișinău Water Tower, located on Alexei Mateevici Street, is a significant architectural monument that reflects the city's history and resilience. Its walls are built from local rock and brick, varying in width from 50 centimeters at the top to 2 meters at the base. Inside, a spiral staircase leads to the top, and an elevator was added during renovations. The tower's white exterior and red roof give it a distinct and visually appealing appearance, reminiscent of 14th-century European architecture.Over the years, the Water Tower has faced several challenges, including damage from earthquakes. It was rebuilt between 1980 and 1983, with careful attention to preserving its original design. Today, the tower houses the Chișinău City Museum, showcasing items from the 15th to 20th centuries. Visitors can explore exhibits detailing the city's history and the tower's role in its development. The observation deck at the top provides stunning panoramic views of Chișinău and its surrounding areas.
