Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From Monte Carlo, head to the nearest bus stop, which is 'Monte Carlo - Gare Routière'. Take bus number 100 in the direction of 'Nice'. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Disembark at 'Nice - Riquier' bus stop. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to Fort du Mont Alban. Head northeast on Rue de l’Exposition, then turn left onto Chemin du Fort du Mont Alban, where you'll find the fort.

    Make your way to the Monte Carlo train station. Take a train towards Nice Ville. The travel time is around 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Nice Ville, exit the station and find the tram stop nearby. Take Tram Line 1 towards 'Henri Sappia'. Get off at 'Riquier' tram stop. From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to Fort du Mont Alban. Walk northeast on Rue de l’Exposition and turn left onto Chemin du Fort du Mont Alban.

    If you prefer to walk, start from the Monte Carlo Casino. Head down Avenue de Monte Carlo, continue onto Avenue des Spélugues, and then follow Boulevard Louis II until you reach the promenade. Keep walking along the coast until you reach the Port of Nice. From the port, walk up towards the hill where Fort du Mont Alban is located. The hike will take approximately 45 minutes but offers beautiful views of the coast.

  • Taxi

    You can also take a taxi from any location in Monte Carlo directly to Fort du Mont Alban. Just inform the driver to take you to 'Chemin du Fort du Mont Alban, Nice'. The ride will take about 30 minutes depending on traffic and will be the most direct route.
