Keep an eye out for the signs indicating the entrance to the Lewis and Clark National Forest. Once you enter the forest, follow the signs for Canyon Creek and look for Forest Road 270. Follow Forest Road 270 until you reach the trailhead for Granite Butte Lookout Tower. There may be a small parking fee required, so be prepared with cash or check.

After parking at the trailhead, you will need to hike approximately 2 miles to reach the Granite Butte Lookout Tower. The trail is moderately steep, so wear good hiking shoes and bring plenty of water. Follow the well-marked trail signs leading toward the lookout.
