Getting There

Hiking
If you are starting from Old Faithful, exit the Old Faithful Visitor Center and head west towards the Geyser Basin. Follow the marked trail towards Geyser Hill, taking in the beautiful geothermal features along the way. Continue on the path until you reach the intersection with the trail leading to Grotto Geyser, which is about a 1.5-mile walk. Follow the signs, and after approximately 30 minutes of walking, you will arrive at Grotto Geyser.

Shuttle
From the Old Faithful area, you can take the Yellowstone Shuttle service if available. Head to the designated shuttle stop near the Old Faithful Visitor Center. Take the shuttle heading towards the West Thumb area. Inform the driver that you wish to stop at Grotto Geyser. The ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes, after which you will be dropped off near the Grotto Geyser trailhead. Follow the short trail from the drop-off point to reach the geyser.

Walking
If you are near the Morning Glory Pool, you can walk to Grotto Geyser directly. From Morning Glory Pool, take the path that leads south towards the main Geyser Basin. Walk along the boardwalk that connects the geysers, keeping an eye out for the signs directing you to Grotto Geyser. The walk will take you approximately 15-20 minutes. Enjoy the sights along the way as you make your way to the geyser.
