If you are driving from any location in the Ayeyarwady Region, start by heading towards Taunggyi, the capital of Shan State. From Taunggyi, take the road towards Kakku Pagodas. The pagodas are located approximately 40 kilometers southeast of Taunggyi. Follow the signs to Kakku, and you will pass through beautiful countryside. The road is relatively well-maintained but can be narrow in some areas. Make sure to have cash on hand for any tolls or entrance fees, which may cost around 5,000 MMK per person.

To reach Kakku Pagodas using public transportation, first travel to Taunggyi by bus from your location in the Ayeyarwady Region. Once in Taunggyi, you can take a shared taxi or a local minibus to Kakku. The shared taxi or minibus ride will cost approximately 5,000 to 10,000 MMK per person and take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Ensure you confirm the departure point for the shared taxi, which is usually at the main bus station in Taunggyi. Once you arrive at Kakku, you may need to pay an entrance fee of around 5,000 MMK.
