Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from any location in the Eastern Development Region and head towards Kathmandu. Use the Prithvi Highway (also known as the Kathmandu-Pokhara Highway) for the most direct route. Once you reach the Kathmandu Valley, follow the signs towards Pashupatinath Temple. You'll find Pashupati Nath Road leading directly to the temple. Parking is available nearby, but be prepared to pay a small fee (around NPR 100-200) for parking. Make sure to check the local traffic conditions as they can impact your travel time.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, take a bus or microbus heading to Kathmandu from your location in the Eastern Development Region. Buses are frequent and reasonably priced (typically between NPR 300-600 depending on your departure point). Once you arrive at the Kathmandu Bus Park (also known as Gongabu Bus Park), you can take a taxi or a local microbus to Pashupatinath Temple. The taxi ride will cost around NPR 300, while the microbus fare will be approximately NPR 30-50. Ask the driver to drop you off at Pashupatinath Temple, which is a well-known landmark.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route upon reaching Kathmandu, consider hiring a taxi from the bus park. Taxis are readily available and can take you straight to Pashupatinath Temple. Be sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it should be around NPR 300-500 depending on traffic and exact drop-off point. This option is convenient if you're traveling with luggage or in a group.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby or after arriving at Pashupati Nath Road, you can simply walk to the temple. It is a short walk from the nearest bus stop or taxi drop-off point. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions, as Pashupatinath Temple is a prominent landmark in Kathmandu.
