If you are traveling by car from Himalayan, head towards the Prithvi Highway (also known as the Pokhara Highway). The temple is located approximately 12 kilometers from the nearest town of Muglin. As you drive, follow the signs for Manakamana Temple, which will direct you to the base station. There is parking available at the base station. The trip takes around 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Public Transportation
To reach Manakamana Temple using public transportation, take a local bus from Himalayan to Muglin. Buses depart frequently from the main bus station and the journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Muglin, look for the signs directing you to the Manakamana cable car station. From there, you can take the cable car to reach the temple itself. The cable car ride offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and takes approximately 10-15 minutes. A one-way ticket for the cable car costs around NPR 1,000.
Cable Car
The final leg of your journey is the cable car ride from the base station to Manakamana Temple. The cable car operates from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and it's recommended to check the timing on your day of visit. The cost for a round trip is approximately NPR 2,000. It provides breathtaking views of the valley and is a popular attraction in itself, so be prepared for possible lines during peak hours.
