Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from Kathmandu and head east on the Arniko Highway (also known as the Kathmandu-Bhaktapur Highway). Drive for about 12 kilometers until you reach Bhaktapur. Continue past Bhaktapur for another 8 kilometers, following signs for Nagarkot. Turn left onto the Nagarkot Dandagoan Highway. Drive for approximately 10 kilometers, and you will reach the Nagarkot Panoramic Hiking Trail parking area. Make sure to have a GPS or map application to ensure you stay on the right path. Parking may incur a small fee.

• Public Bus

  To reach Nagarkot using public transportation, head to the bus station in Kathmandu, located near Ratna Park. Look for a bus heading to Bhaktapur and board it. The fare will be around NPR 50-100 depending on the bus type. Once you reach Bhaktapur, transfer to a local bus or microbus headed for Nagarkot. The local bus fare should be around NPR 150-200. The bus will take you directly to the Nagarkot area. The journey may take about 1.5 to 2 hours in total, depending on traffic.

• Taxi

  For a more direct and comfortable option, you can hire a taxi from Kathmandu. Negotiate the fare beforehand; it typically costs around NPR 2,500 to NPR 3,500. The taxi will take you directly to the Nagarkot Panoramic Hiking Trail. It's about a 1.5-hour drive from Kathmandu. Ensure that the driver knows your exact destination and consider confirming the total cost before starting your journey.

• Hiking

  If you are already in the Nagarkot area, you can start your hike from the main viewpoint. Look for signs indicating the beginning of the Nagarkot Panoramic Hiking Trail. The trail is well-marked and takes you through beautiful landscapes, offering views of the Himalayan range. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and enough water for the journey.
