Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Thamel, head towards the north on the main street, and continue straight until you reach the Ratna Park area. From Ratna Park, take a right turn towards the Basantapur area. Continue straight for about 10 minutes, and you will reach a large open square called Basantapur Durbar Square. As you enter the square, keep an eye out for the temple's distinct architecture. The Ashok Vinayak Mandir is located on Layaku Marg, just a short walk from the square.

    If you are at Kathmandu Durbar Square, simply walk towards the east side of the square. As you exit the square, head down Layaku Marg. The Ashok Vinayak Mandir will be on your left after a short walk. Look for the temple’s unique entrance and vibrant surroundings.

    Take a local bus or microbus heading towards Basantapur or Bhaktapur. Ask the conductor to drop you off at the Basantapur stop. From there, walk towards the main square (Durbar Square) and then follow the directions provided for walking from the square to Ashok Vinayak Mandir.
