Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Boudhanath Stupa, head east on the main street (Boudha Road) for about 200 meters until you reach the intersection. At the intersection, turn left onto the road that leads away from the stupa. Continue straight for another 300 meters until you see a small sign pointing to Riwoche Monastery. Follow the sign and take the left fork in the road. The monastery will be about 600 meters down this road on your right side. Look for the entrance marked with traditional Buddhist symbols.

    From the Boudhanath area, if you are near the local shops or cafes, exit the main square and head towards the main road (Boudha Road). Walk south for approximately 400 meters, and you will come across a T-junction. At the junction, turn right and continue straight for 1 kilometer. Riwoche Monastery will be on your left.
