Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Namche Bazaar, head towards the highest point in town, following the trail that leads northwest. You will pass by several tea houses and shops. Continue on the main trail, which is well-marked. After about 1 hour of walking, you will reach the small village of Khumjung. Ama Dablam will be visible in the distance as you approach Khumjung. Follow the signs towards the Ama Dablam viewpoint, which is a short hike from the village.

    If you are near the Namche Bazaar monastery, take the trail leading away from the monastery downhill towards the main path. Continue straight, passing through the local market area. Keep walking along the path until you reach a fork; take the left path leading up towards Khumjung. This route will also lead you towards the Ama Dablam viewpoint after approximately 1 hour of steady walking.
