Getting There

• Walking

  Start from the Patan Durbar Square, a popular tourist spot. Head east towards the main road (Patan - Kathmandu Road). From there, take a local bus or catch a microbus heading towards Godawari. The bus stop is located near the entrance of Durbar Square. Once on the bus, inform the driver that you want to get off at Godawari. This should take about 30 minutes. After you arrive in Godawari, ask locals for directions to Phulchoki Mandir, as it is a well-known landmark. You will need to walk up the hill for about 2 kilometers to reach the temple, following the signs or local guidance.

• Local Bus and Walking

  From the Patan area, walk to the nearest bus station (usually near Pulchowk). Take a bus heading towards Godawari. Tell the conductor or driver you want to get off at Godawari. Once you reach Godawari, you can either walk the remaining distance to Phulchoki Mandir or hire a local guide for the trek. The walk from Godawari to the temple is approximately 2 kilometers uphill. Ensure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes, as the path can be steep.

• Hiking

  For the adventurous, you can start your hike from the Patan area itself. Begin at Patan Durbar Square and head east towards the outskirts. Follow the trails leading up to Phulchoki Hill. This route will take you through local villages and beautiful landscapes. The hike is roughly 5 kilometers and can take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to take breaks and enjoy the scenery along the way. Once you reach the top, you will find the Phulchoki Mandir, a serene spot with a great view.
