Getting there

Tram

If you're near Amsterdam Central Station, take tram line 2 or 12 towards 'Zuid'. The tram ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the 'Museumplein' stop, which is the closest tram stop to the Rijksmuseum. From there, you will see the museum directly in front of you. Simply walk across the square to reach the museum entrance.

Metro

If you're closer to the metro system, take line 52 (Noord/Zuidlijn) from any station towards 'Zuid'. Get off at 'Zuid' station. Once you exit the station, it's about a 15-minute walk to the Rijksmuseum. Head north on 'Zuidplein', then take a left onto 'Van Baerlestraat', which will lead you directly to the museum entrance.

Bicycle

Amsterdam is bicycle-friendly, so consider renting a bike. From anywhere in the city center, head towards the 'Museumplein' area. Follow the bike lanes that lead to 'Museumstraat'. The Rijksmuseum is located at Museumstraat 1. There are bike parking facilities nearby.

Walking

If you're already in the nearby area, walking is a great option. From the Leidseplein square, head east on 'Leidseplein', then turn left onto 'Leidsestraat'. Continue straight until you reach 'Museumplein'. The Rijksmuseum will be on your right at Museumstraat 1. The walk should take around 15-20 minutes.

Bus

You can also take bus line 170, 172, or 197 from various locations in the city. Get off at 'Museumplein' stop. Once you alight, the Rijksmuseum is just a short walk away. Follow the signs towards the museum.
