Car
To drive from Zaanse Schans to the Rijksmuseum, head east on the Zaanse Schans road towards the A8 highway. Take the A8 towards Amsterdam and then merge onto the A10 ring road. Follow signs for S109 toward Amsterdam-Zuid and take exit 2. Continue on the S109, which leads you to the city center. Use the navigation system to find the best route to Museumstraat 1, 1071 XX Amsterdam. Be aware that parking in Amsterdam can be expensive and limited, so consider using a parking garage nearby.

Public Transportation
To travel by public transport from Zaanse Schans to the Rijksmuseum, start by walking to the nearest bus stop. Take bus line 391 or 392 towards Amsterdam. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at Station Sloterdijk, and from there, transfer to train line Intercity (IC) towards Amsterdam Centraal. Once you reach Amsterdam Centraal, switch to tram line 2 or 12, which will take you directly to the Rijksmuseum stop. The total journey may take around 1 hour and 15 minutes. A single ticket for public transport costs around €3.20.
