If you are driving from Zaanstreek, take the A8 motorway towards Amsterdam. Follow the signs for A10 and then take the exit towards S114. Continue on S114 until you reach the city center. Look for parking facilities nearby, such as the Q-Park at Damstraat or another parking garage in the vicinity of Dam Square. The National Monument is located directly at Dam Square, so once you park, it will be within a short walking distance.

Public Transportation

To reach the National Monument by public transport, first, head to the nearest train station in Zaanstreek, such as Zaandam or Koog aan de Zaan. From there, take a train towards Amsterdam Centraal Station. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and follow the signs to the tram stop. Take tram line 4, 14, or 24 towards Dam Square. The tram ride is approximately 5-10 minutes. Get off at the 'Dam' stop, and the National Monument will be right in front of you.
