If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Lake Tahoe and make your way towards Incline Village. Head north on NV-28 (North Lake Boulevard) and enjoy the scenic views along the way. Continue on NV-28 for approximately 9 miles until you reach the intersection with Country Club Drive. Turn left onto Country Club Drive and follow the signs leading you to the Monkey Rock Trailhead. The trailhead parking area is located at the end of the road, where you can park your vehicle. Note: There may be a parking fee, so be prepared with cash or check.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, you can take the Tahoe Area Regional Transit (TART) bus. Board the TART bus at any designated stop in South Lake Tahoe that services the route to Incline Village. Make sure to check the TART schedule ahead of time to ensure you're on the correct route and that buses are running at your desired time. Upon reaching Incline Village, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile to the Monkey Rock Trailhead. Follow the signs on Country Club Drive toward the trailhead. If you prefer to cycle, you can bike from South Lake Tahoe to Monkey Rock Trailhead. Start on the bike path that runs along NV-28 and head north towards Incline Village. The ride is about 9 miles and offers beautiful views of the lake. When you arrive at Country Club Drive, follow it to the end where the trailhead is located. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring water along for the ride.
