If you are driving from Elko, NV, head south on US-93 S for approximately 66 miles. Then, turn left onto NV-229 S and continue for about 30 miles. After that, turn right onto Ruby Valley Road, which leads you directly into the Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge. Make sure to have a map or GPS as cell service can be limited in some areas.

From Wells, NV, take I-80 W for about 25 miles. Then exit onto US-93 S and drive approximately 60 miles. Next, turn left onto NV-229 S and continue for about 30 miles before turning right onto Ruby Valley Road, which will lead you to the refuge.

Currently, there are no direct public transportation options to Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge. However, you can take a Greyhound bus to Elko, NV. From Elko, you would need to rent a car or arrange for a taxi service to reach the refuge, which is about a 1.5-hour drive away.

If you are coming from the small town of Lamoille, head north on Lamoille Highway (NV-227) for about 20 miles until you reach US-93 S. Turn right onto US-93 S and follow the earlier directions to reach Ruby Lake by taking NV-229 S.
