From downtown Concord, head to the nearest bus stop at Main Street and North State Street. Take the #1 bus heading towards 'Concord/Manchester.' Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes until you reach the 'Martinez Transit Center.' From there, transfer to the #4 bus towards 'Alhambra Ave.' Get off at the 'Alhambra Ave & Morello Ave' stop. Walk about 10 minutes west on Alhambra Ave to reach the John Muir National Historic Site at 4202 Alhambra Ave.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from a local rental shop in downtown Concord. Head west on Main Street and take a right onto West Concord Street, then follow the bike path along the river. Continue until you reach Alhambra Ave, where you will turn left and ride north. The John Muir National Historic Site will be on your right at 4202 Alhambra Ave, approximately a 30-minute ride.
