From Exeter, head to the Exeter train station located at 8 Lincoln St. Once there, take the Amtrak Downeaster train towards Portland. Stay on the train for about 20 minutes until you reach the Portsmouth station. After disembarking, head north on Islington St. Turn left onto Middle St. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles. The John Paul Jones House will be on your left at 43 Middle Street.

From Exeter, walk to the nearest bus stop on Water Street in front of the Exeter Public Library. Take the COAST bus route 40 towards Portsmouth. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Portsmouth Downtown stop. Walk north along Market St, then turn left onto Middle St. Continue walking for about 0.2 miles, and you will find the John Paul Jones House at 43 Middle Street.

If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Exeter Town Center. Head east on Water St, then take a right onto Epping Rd (NH-27). Follow NH-27 for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection with US-1. Continue straight onto Market St in Portsmouth. After approximately 1 mile, turn left onto Middle St. The John Paul Jones House will be on your left at 43 Middle Street.
