Public Transit
To get to Rockaway Beach in Queens from Hoboken, first, make your way to the Hoboken Terminal. You can walk there from anywhere in Hoboken since it's centrally located. Once at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the PATH train to 33rd Street. Board the PATH train and disembark at the 33rd Street station. From there, transfer to the subway by following the signs to the N or W train. Take the N or W train towards Astoria-Ditmars Blvd and get off at the Astoria Blvd stop. At Astoria Blvd, transfer to the Q53-SBS bus towards Rockaway Park, which you can catch right outside the subway station. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the stop for Rockaway Beach.

If you prefer to walk initially, you can head to the nearest New Jersey Transit station, which is the Hoboken Terminal. From there, board a NJ Transit train headed to Penn Station in New York City. Once at Penn Station, navigate to the subway system and take the A train towards Far Rockaway. After approximately an hour of travel, get off at the Broad Channel station. Here, you’ll need to switch to the S train (the Rockaway Park Shuttle) which will take you directly to Rockaway Beach. This route allows you to experience both the train and subway systems and offers a scenic view along the way.
