Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving within Bandelier National Monument, start at the main entrance located at 15 Entrance Road, Los Alamos, NM 87544. After entering, follow the main road, which is the Frijoles Canyon Road, for approximately 3 miles. Look for the parking area on your left, which is designated for the Pueblo Loop Trail. There is no fee for parking at the trailhead, but be aware that the monument charges an entrance fee of $25 per vehicle (valid for 7 days). Once parked, follow the signs to the Pueblo Loop Trail.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, your best option is to take the 'Los Alamos Shuttle' from the Los Alamos town center. The shuttle operates on a limited schedule, so ensure to check the latest timetable. Get off at the Bandelier National Monument stop. From the shuttle stop, you can walk to the main entrance of the monument, which is about a half-mile away. Once at the entrance, follow the directions for cars to reach the Pueblo Loop Trail parking area as described above.
