Bus
From your current location in Carlsbad, walk to the nearest bus stop. You can use the local bus service (Carlsbad Municipal Transit) to catch the Route 4 bus heading towards the Carlsbad Village station. Once you arrive at the Carlsbad Village station, transfer to the Route 1 bus towards San Diego. Stay on the bus for approximately 45 minutes until you reach the stop at Mission Bay Park. From there, it’s a short walk to the Mission Beach Boardwalk, where you can enjoy the scenic views.
Bicycle
If you're comfortable riding a bicycle, you can rent one from a nearby shop in Carlsbad. Start at the Carlsbad Village area, and head south on Coast Hwy 101. Follow the bike lanes, and continue on to the scenic coastal path towards San Diego. The ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Once you arrive at Mission Beach, look for the signs directing you to the Mission Beach Boardwalk.
Walking
For an adventurous walk, start from the Carlsbad Village and head south along the coast. Follow the pedestrian paths along the beach. The walk is quite lengthy, around 6 miles, and will take approximately 2 to 3 hours. You will enjoy beautiful ocean views and can take breaks at various beaches along the way before reaching the Mission Beach Boardwalk.
