If you're traveling by car, start on NM-518 from any location in Northwest New Mexico. Continue on NM-518 until you reach the junction with I-25. Merge onto I-25 South towards Las Vegas, NM. Take exit 366 for NM-161 towards Fort Union National Monument. Follow NM-161 for approximately 7 miles, and the monument will be on your left at 3115 NM-161, Watrous, NM 87753. Parking is available on-site, and there is no fee for entry.
