From the center of Ruidoso, head east on Mechem Drive (NM-48) towards the intersection with Sudderth Drive. Continue straight on NM-48 for about 6 miles. After passing the Ruidoso Downs Race Track, keep following NM-48 as it winds through the scenic area. You will see signs for Alto Lake and Recreation Area. Once you reach the address 854 NM-48, Alto, NM 88312, look for the entrance to the park on your left.
