Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Ruidoso, start at the intersection of Sudderth Drive and Mechem Drive. Head east on Sudderth Drive for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with the Ruidoso River. Follow the river's path northward along the scenic trail, which is well-marked. Continue walking for approximately 1 mile, enjoying the views of local wildlife and nature. Eventually, you will come to a fork in the trail; take the left path that leads towards the Ruidoso Reservoir. Follow the trail for another 0.5 miles until you reach the reservoir's edge.

• Biking

  Rent a bike from one of the local shops in Ruidoso, such as 'Ruidoso Bike Shop' located on Mechem Drive. From there, head north on Mechem Drive towards the Ruidoso River. After around 1 mile, you will see trail markers directing you to the Ruidoso Reservoir. Take the bike path that runs parallel to the river and follow it for about 1.5 miles. Keep an eye out for signage indicating the way to the reservoir. After a scenic ride, you’ll arrive at Ruidoso Reservoir where you can lock your bike at the designated area.

  While public transit options are limited, you can utilize local shuttles or services like Uber or Lyft to get to the Ruidoso Reservoir.
