    From central Ruidoso, head east on Sudderth Drive. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Mechem Drive. Turn left onto Mechem Drive and continue until you reach the intersection with Highway 70. Cross the highway to the bus stop on the opposite side, and board the bus heading to Capitan. The bus will take you directly to Capitan. Once you arrive in Capitan, walk south on Smokey Bear Blvd. The park will be on your left at 118 Smokey Bear Blvd.

    Start at the Ruidoso Bike Path on Mechem Drive. Follow the bike path south until you reach the junction with Highway 70. Turn right onto Highway 70 and cycle towards Capitan. Continue riding until you see the signs for Smokey Bear Historical Park. Upon entering Capitan, turn left onto Smokey Bear Blvd and follow the road until you reach the park at 118 Smokey Bear Blvd.
