Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from anywhere in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, head south on NM-68 S towards Española. Continue on NM-68 S for approximately 20 miles until you reach the junction with US-84 S. Take the exit onto US-84 S and follow for about 4 miles. Merge onto NM-4 E towards Los Alamos and continue for about 24 miles. You will see signs for Bandelier National Monument. The entrance to the monument is on your right, just past the parking area.

  • Public Transportation

    If you're using public transportation, take the Blue Bus from Taos to Española. From Española, catch the Santa Fe Trails Bus #2 to Los Alamos. Once in Los Alamos, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to take you to Bandelier National Monument, as public transport does not directly reach the monument. Expect to pay approximately $15-$25 for the taxi service, depending on the time of day and demand.
