    From Washington Park, head southeast toward Madison Ave. Walk along the edge of the park until you reach the intersection of Madison Ave and Washington Park. Turn left onto Madison Ave and continue walking straight. After about 0.5 miles, you will reach the intersection with State St. Turn right onto State St. The New York State Capitol will be on your left at the corner of State St and Washington Ave. The total walking distance is approximately 1 mile and should take about 20 minutes.

    From Washington Park, head to the nearest bus stop on Madison Ave. You can catch the CDTA bus routes 10 or 12. Board the bus heading toward the downtown area. The fare is $1.75, which you can pay with exact cash or a MetroCard. The bus will make several stops, and you should get off at the stop nearest to the intersection of State St and Washington Ave. From there, it's just a short walk to the New York State Capitol, located at the corner of State St and Washington Ave. The total travel time is approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.
