    If you're driving from anywhere in the Hudson Valley, take I-87 North (the New York State Thruway) towards Albany. Depending on your starting point, you may need to connect to I-87 from local roads. Once you approach Albany, take exit 23 for I-787 N toward Troy/Albany. Continue on I-787 N for about 2 miles. Take exit 2A for Madison Avenue. Merge onto Madison Avenue, and the New York State Museum will be on your left at 222 Madison Ave, Albany, NY 12230. There is street parking available nearby, but be aware that there may be parking fees depending on the time of day.
