Car
From anywhere in the Catskill Mountains, head towards Route 44-55. If you're near towns like Woodstock, Phoenicia, or Hunter, you can take either Route 28 or Route 212 to connect to Route 44-55. Follow Route 44-55 until you reach 5281 Route 44-55, Kerhonkson, NY 12446, which is the entrance to Minnewaska State Park Preserve. You will find the entrance on your right side.

Public Transportation + Taxi/Rideshare
If you are using public transportation, take a bus to the nearest major town, which is Kerhonkson. You can board a Trailways bus from major cities like New York City or Albany, which stop in towns around the Catskills. From Kerhonkson, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber) to reach Minnewaska State Park Preserve, as the park is approximately 7 miles away from the bus stop. Make sure to arrange for your return trip as taxis may not be readily available.

For the more adventurous, biking is a great way to reach the park. You can find scenic routes through the Catskills, but it's recommended to start from a nearby town like New Paltz. Take Route 299 to Route 44-55, which will lead you to the park entrance. The total distance from New Paltz to Minnewaska State Park Preserve is roughly 15 miles. Ensure you are prepared with proper biking gear and check the weather conditions beforehand.
