Walking
Starting at the Hudson Amtrak Station, exit the station and head south on Columbia Street. Continue straight for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with Warren Street. Turn left onto Warren Street and walk for approximately 0.5 miles, enjoying the local shops and cafes. At the end of Warren Street, turn right onto Route 9G, and follow it for about 1 mile. As you approach the Hudson River, look for a trailhead on your left that will lead you up to the Olana State Historic Site. The Olana Viewshed Historical Marker is located within the park, where you can enjoy stunning views of the Hudson Valley.

Biking
If you have a bike, start from the Hudson Amtrak Station. Head south on Columbia Street for about 0.3 miles, then take a left onto Warren Street. Bike along Warren Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach Route 9G. Turn right onto Route 9G and continue on the road for 1 mile. You will see a bike path that leads you to the Olana State Historic Site. Follow the bike path up to the marker, where you can take in the beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

From Hudson, take the Columbia County Public Transportation bus service, which can be checked for schedules online or at the bus stop. Board the bus heading towards the Olana State Historic Site. Once you arrive at the designated stop near the historic site, follow the signs to the Olana Viewshed Historical Marker. The marker is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop, located within the park area.
