Car
From Hunter Mountain, head south on NY-32 S for approximately 8 miles until you reach the intersection with NY-23. Turn left onto NY-23 E and continue for about 12 miles. Take the exit for NY-82 S toward Ancram. Merge onto NY-82 S and follow it for about 6 miles. Lake Taghkanic State Park will be on your right at 1528 NY-82, Ancram, NY 12502. There may be a parking fee, so be prepared to pay that upon arrival.

Starting from Hunter Mountain, take the local bus service (check the schedule for availability) to the nearest train station, which is in Hudson, NY. From Hudson, take the Metro-North Railroad train towards Grand Central Terminal. Get off at the Catamount station. From there, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to Lake Taghkanic State Park, which is approximately a 15-minute drive away. Be aware that public transportation schedules may vary, so check in advance for the best options.
