From downtown Ithaca, head to the Ithaca Bus Terminal located at 710 W. State St. You can catch the TCAT bus route that goes to the Cayuga Lake area, specifically route 20 or 30. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Cayuga Lake stop. Once you disembark, walk towards the lakefront; you will see the beautiful views of Cayuga Lake.
Walking
If you're near the Ithaca Commons, you can walk to Cayuga Lake. Start at the intersection of State St. and the Commons. Head west on State St. until you reach the end of the street, then take a right onto 1st St. Continue straight as it becomes Lake St. Walk towards the lake, and you will reach the waterfront area of Cayuga Lake in about 20-25 minutes.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bike, you can ride from downtown Ithaca to Cayuga Lake. Start at the Ithaca Commons and take the pedestrian bridge over the Cayuga Inlet. Follow the path along the inlet until you reach the lake. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes, and you will enjoy scenic views along the way.
