Bus
From downtown Ithaca, head to the Tompkins County Area Transit (TCAT) bus stop at the Commons. Look for the TCAT Route 30 bus heading towards Buttermilk Falls State Park. The bus runs frequently, so check the latest schedule for exact times. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride which will take you directly to the park. The journey typically takes about 15-20 minutes. The bus will drop you off at the park entrance.
Bicycle
If you're comfortable cycling, rent a bike from a local shop in downtown Ithaca. Start by heading east on State Street, then turn left onto Cayuga Street. Follow Cayuga Street until you reach the intersection with Buttermilk Falls Road. Turn right onto Buttermilk Falls Road, and continue for about 2 miles until you reach the park entrance. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws.
Walking
If you're up for a scenic walk, you can head towards Buttermilk Falls State Park from downtown Ithaca. Start on State Street and make your way to the intersection with Cayuga Street. Turn left on Cayuga Street and follow it until it intersects with Buttermilk Falls Road. Continue walking along Buttermilk Falls Road, which is approximately 2 miles. Enjoy the natural beauty along the way. This walk may take about 40-50 minutes, so wear comfortable shoes.
