Getting There

  • Train

    From New York City, take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) from Penn Station to the Oyster Bay train station. Purchase a ticket to Oyster Bay. The trip will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Oyster Bay station, exit the station and walk north on Audrey Avenue until you reach the intersection with East Main Street. Turn left on East Main Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with South Street. Turn right on South Street, which will lead you directly to Sagamore Hill Road. Follow Sagamore Hill Road for about 1 mile until you reach the entrance of Sagamore Hill National Historic Site at 20 Sagamore Hill Rd, Oyster Bay, NY 11771.

    If you are in the vicinity of Huntington or another nearby area, you can take the Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) bus. Route N70 will take you toward Oyster Bay. Get off at the stop closest to the intersection of South Street and Sagamore Hill Road. From there, walk west on South Street until you reach Sagamore Hill Road, then turn left and walk until you arrive at the historic site, which is approximately a half-mile walk.
