    From Montauk, head to the Montauk Bus Station located at 25 Montauk Highway. Take the Suffolk County Transit Bus S92 heading towards East Hampton. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the East Hampton Village Green stop. Transfer to the Hampton Jitney bus heading to Sag Harbor. The ride will take around 15 minutes. Get off at the Main Street and Bay Street stop in Sag Harbor. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the Sag Harbor Whaling & Historical Museum located at 200 Main St. Head northwest on Main St, and the museum will be on your left.

    If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Montauk. Start at the Montauk Point State Park and head north on Route 27. Continue until you reach the junction with Noyac Road. Turn left onto Noyac Road and follow it until you reach Sag Harbor. Once in Sag Harbor, continue straight on Noyac Road, which becomes Bay Street. Then turn right onto Main Street. The Sag Harbor Whaling & Historical Museum will be located at 200 Main St on your right. The biking distance is approximately 10 miles and will take about 1 hour.
