From downtown Poughkeepsie, head to the Poughkeepsie Transit Center located at 505 Main Street. Take the Dutchess County Public Transit bus Route 6 towards Fishkill. The bus will take you along US-9. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at Fishkill. From the bus stop, walk north on US-9 for about 0.5 miles until you see the Van Wyck Homestead Museum on your left at 504 US-9.

Start at the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park, enjoy the scenic views, and then head down to the bike path leading to the north side of Poughkeepsie. Follow the bike path along the Hudson River, which will take you to Route 9. Once you reach Route 9, head south on the bike lane until you reach the Van Wyck Homestead Museum, located at 504 US-9 in Fishkill.
