From White Plains, head to the White Plains Metro-North Station. Purchase a ticket for the Harlem Line heading to Grand Central Terminal. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Grand Central, follow the signs to the 42nd Street subway station. Take the 6 train (green line) downtown towards Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall. Get off at the 23rd Street station. From there, walk east on 23rd Street towards 3rd Avenue, then turn left on 3rd Avenue. Walk north for about 5 blocks until you reach East 20th Street. Turn right, and you will find the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site at 28 E 20th St.

Start at the White Plains Bus Terminal. Take the Bee-Line Bus #1 towards the Bronx. After about 25 minutes, get off at the intersection of 23rd Street and 3rd Avenue in Manhattan. From there, walk east on 23rd Street to 3rd Avenue, then turn left on 3rd Avenue. Walk north for about 5 blocks until you reach East 20th Street. Turn right, and you will find the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site at 28 E 20th St.
