    From White Plains, take the Metro-North train from White Plains station heading towards Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Once you arrive at Grand Central, transfer to the 4, 5, 6 subway lines. Take the 4 or 5 train towards Brooklyn or the 6 train towards Brooklyn Bridge. Get off at the 125th Street station. From there, walk east to 1st Avenue and catch the MTA bus M35 towards East Harlem. Get off at the stop at East River and Hell Gate Cir. Wards Island Park will be nearby.

    From White Plains, you can take the Bee-Line Bus Route 60 towards the Bronx. Get off at the stop at 241st Street and Broadway. From there, transfer to the MTA bus BxM4C towards Midtown Manhattan. Get off at the stop on 125th Street and 1st Avenue. Walk to the M35 bus stop and board the M35 bus towards East Harlem. Get off at East River and Hell Gate Cir, and Wards Island Park will be just a short walk away.

    If you are near the White Plains train station, walk to the intersection of Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue. Head north on Mamaroneck Avenue until you reach the bus terminal.
