Bus
From the Auckland CBD, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Victoria Street West. Take the bus number 81, 82, or 83 heading to Takapuna. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. You will get off at the Takapuna bus stop on Lake Road. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to the beach. Simply walk east on Lake Road until you reach The Strand, then turn left to arrive at Takapuna Beach.

Ferry
Head to the Auckland Ferry Terminal located at 99 Quay Street. Take the ferry to Devonport, which takes about 12 minutes. Once you arrive at Devonport, walk to the bus stop located right outside the ferry terminal. Catch the bus number 805 or 806 towards Takapuna. It will take approximately 15 minutes to reach Takapuna. Get off at the Takapuna bus stop on Lake Road and walk 5 minutes to Takapuna Beach.

Walking
If you're in the Takapuna area, simply walk towards the beach. From the main shopping district on Hurstmere Road, head east towards The Strand. Once you reach The Strand, turn left and continue walking for about 5 minutes until you arrive at Takapuna Beach. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!

Train and Bus
From the Auckland CBD, head to the Britomart Train Station. Take the train on the Western Line towards Swanson. Get off at the Takapuna train station. After exiting the station, catch bus number 83 or 82 from the nearby bus stop heading towards Takapuna Beach. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes. Get off at the Takapuna bus stop on Lake Road and walk 5 minutes to the beach.
