You can take a bus (such as the 12 or 20 routes) or walk from central Auckland, which is approximately a 10-15 minute walk. At the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket to Devonport. The ferry departs regularly, and the journey takes about 12-15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Devonport Ferry Terminal, exit and walk straight along Victoria Road. Continue walking for about 15 minutes, and you will reach Cheltenham Beach.

If you prefer to take a bus, you can catch the 804 or 802 routes from various points in Auckland City. For example, you can board the bus at the Britomart Transport Centre. Ensure you are heading towards Devonport. The bus will take you to the Devonport township, where you can get off at the Victoria Road stop. From there, walk along Victoria Road towards Cheltenham Beach for about 15 minutes. The beach will be on your left.
