If you are within walking distance in central Christchurch, you can reach the Botanic Gardens by heading east on Armagh Street. Start from Cathedral Square, walk along Colombo Street for about 500 meters, then turn left onto Armagh Street. Continue walking for another 500 meters until you see the entrance to the Botanic Gardens on your right.
