If you are starting from the Christchurch Central City area, head towards Victoria Square. From Victoria Square, walk along the riverbank of the Avon River heading east. You will pass the Bridge of Remembrance. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Rolleston Avenue. Turn left onto Rolleston Avenue. The entrance to the Christchurch Botanic Gardens will be on your right.

You can take a bus from various points in the city. Look for buses heading towards the 'Botanic Gardens' or 'Hagley Park' stops. Most buses that operate in the Central City area will have a stop near the gardens. Get off at the 'Rolleston Avenue' stop. From there, the entrance to the Christchurch Botanic Gardens is just a short walk away on your left.

If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike rental stations located around the city. From the Central City area, ride towards the Avon River and follow the riverside pathway heading east. You will reach Rolleston Avenue where you can lock your bike at the designated bike racks near the entrance to the Botanic Gardens.
