If you are driving, start from Te Anau, the nearest major town to Fiordland National Park. Head south on State Highway 94 towards Milford Sound. After approximately 50 kilometers, look for the sign indicating the turnoff to the Herrick Creek area. Once you turn off the highway, follow the gravel road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the Herrick Creek parking area. Make sure to have a map or GPS device since mobile reception may be limited.

Public Transportation
Take a bus from Te Anau to Milford Sound which operates several times a day. Ensure you inform the driver that you want to stop at the Herrick Creek turnoff. The bus ride will take around 1 hour. Once you reach the turnoff, you will need to walk approximately 10 kilometers along the gravel road to reach Herrick Creek. Be prepared for a hike and bring water and snacks.
