Walking
From the Gisborne city center (starting at the Gisborne i-SITE Visitor Centre at 1 Grey Street), head east towards the intersection with Customhouse Street. Turn left onto Customhouse Street and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Lytton Road (State Highway 35). Cross Lytton Road carefully and continue straight ahead onto Wainui Road. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will see a sign for Waihirere Domain. Turn left onto Waihirere Domain Road, and the entrance to Waihirere Domain will be on your left at 85 Waihirere Domain Road. The walk should take around 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.
