Walking
Starting from the Gisborne i-SITE Visitor Information Centre located at 209 Grey St, head south on Grey Street towards the junction with Customhouse Street. Turn left onto Customhouse Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Stout Street and turn right. Follow Stout Street until it turns into the Riverside Walkway. Continue along the Riverside Walkway, keeping the river on your left. After approximately 1.5 km, you will see the Wi Pere Monument on your right, located along the walkway.

Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle, start at the Gisborne i-SITE Visitor Information Centre at 209 Grey St. Head south on Grey Street and turn left onto Customhouse Street. As you ride down Customhouse Street, you will approach Stout Street. Turn right onto Stout Street, which will lead you directly to the Riverside Walkway. Follow the path along the river for about 1.5 km, and you will find the Wi Pere Monument on your right.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the Gisborne city centre, catch the bus heading towards the Riverside area. Check the local bus schedule for routes that go near the Riverside Walkway. Once you get off at the closest stop to the Riverside Walkway, follow the walkway towards the south. Keep the river on your left side as you walk for approximately 15-20 minutes, and you will arrive at the Wi Pere Monument.
